Training Grants: just might be worth your effort

Several of our users have applied and been approved for both State and Federal Grants.  In all cases, the effort needed in research, paperwork, and phone calls was no small task.  However, it is possible to find companies that will help you identify the State, Local and Federal programs for which your company is eligible.

For example in Massachusetts, Associated Industries of Massachusetts (“AIM”) and Manufacturing Extension Partnership (“MEP”) were extremely helpful in advising our Massachusetts based customers as to what they needed to do to qualify for a grant.

The Maritime Administration (“MARAD”) is responsible for the management of financial programs that help to promote and develop maritime service in the US.  One of the ways these tasks are supported is by the sponsorship of educational opportunities on both the federal and state level.  This was the grant that helped another customer receive a healthy grant in 2009 – 2010.

Training grants are available and the funds come from sources that include taxes we all pay, so why not put those tax dollars to work for you?  It may seem like a lot of work, but in the end saving as much as 50% on your training dollars seems to be well worth it.

If you have experience with State, Local or Federal training grant programs we’d love to hear what you have to say and whether the application process was all worth it in the end.
